And yes, i didn't go there. Because i took some advice from my friend; not to come. Was pissed when i heard that Norman, Faiz and Azrul was there and i was left abandoned.
A day before the event; i followed Navin to school and saw the pre-show..i must say i'm most disappointed with how things turn'd up this year. What i meant was-
Like the old legendary seniors of SMKBB (batch of '98 - '04) were awesome. They are the reason why i liked that school.
When these seniors did their things for each of their houses, it was a privilege to watch them.. and the Commanders were the best from the bunch, they voices could be heard from a kilometre away. And their passion for the houses was dynamic. I was left speechless when i saw them as a little kid from kindergarden.
Their formations were solid; each member of the house sacrifice every ounce of their strengh to make it perfect. The voices of these people was like music to the audience's ears. The way it was done on sport's day was legendary. Each performance from each houses could make tears flow down from your eyes when it was just flawless, simply perfect.
But this year; i must say i'm very disappointed with how things turn'd up.
I couldn't say it was the student's fault nor was the principal.. the students had to follow whatever the principal commands to be done on the sports day, and on the principal's case- I think she never experienced something legendary from the former seniors of SMKBB; that's why she never bothered to give us back our tradition.
I've heard that she have 'removed' most of our traditions from the school; no more canteen day, idol, 15min formation time and etc. She completely demolished everything from what i've heard of the students...either she wants to make her own or she rather not have any tradition at all, based on that i've seen.
And not just that; i'm very dissapointed with some of the themes of the houses this year. It has gotten more childish compared to something that i've expected from the houses. Let me explain-
- Temenggung : They've used some theme childish theme, . No doubt, it's cute for the younger generations of SMKBBians..but with the current discipline of the form1s, it wasn't anything to be shout-about. Nothing spectacular, seemed like too casual.
- Syahbandar : They're using 'ferrari' as theme for this year. I'm not sure what that has to do with their formation, which looks like they are the ones who should use 'Wonderpets' for their theme. Lack of spirit from the seniors, but admirable for effort.
- Laksamana : They're formation is based on space, astronaughts, etc. Not sure why they are using that theme...but it was more of a sing-a-long within their formation. Showed dedication by the juniors.
- Bendahara : The theme was medieval; something chosen year to year. The formations seemed as somehow it was picked from a movie but the formation was clean. A little imperfection, but not visible within the whole formation. Could use more practice.
